The European Union is implementing a new customs pre-arrival security and safety programme, Import Control System 2 (ICS2).

The application of this system will mean that for exports to or via the EU, Northern Ireland, Switzerland and Norway, additional information is required to be announced in advance to identify any cargoes that may need control prior to arrival the destination port. This is initially required for all sea freight shipments, and will soon include all road and rail freight shipments as of April 2025.

Please see below for a list of the mandatory information required:

EORI number for all parties involved
Commodity (HS) Code
Accurate description of the cargo
Complete address details for all parties (including street name, number, PO box, city, postcode & country)
Additional details of parties involved (for example, seller, buyer, the lowest bill of lading level consignee, consignor).

RV Shipping will submit all the necessary advance information on behalf of our customers, however it is the responsibility of the cargo owner to ensure that all the necessary information is supplied prior to booking.
